Features of the Lux TX 1000 Electronic Thermostat

The TXIODO can be used with most 24 volt gasl oil or electric heating and air conditioning systems or gos millivolt heating systems. It cannot be used with 120 volt heating systems or multistage heat pumps, Ask your dearer ror other Lux thermostats 10 control those systems. With the system switch set to HEAT, the Wii' automatically change to lower energy Savingng room temperatures, and than return to warmer "comfort" settings at spesified tlmes during the day. There are four programming periods per day. Each can be programmed separately.

With the system 5Witcn set to COOL, the TX1000 will change to higher energy-saving temperalures, and reLurn to cooler "comfort" temperatures as you like during the day. You can use the built-in time/tamperature programs, or alter them to suit your schedule, The 71000 provides separate programming [or weekdays. Saturday ane Sunday for both heating and cooling. You can override the programmed temperätures tor as littte as one programming period or lor an antire vacatlan. A iarge Eiquid crystal display shows time, day a/ the week, and room and set temperatures, It will remind you when the tiller shou'd be changed in your blower. Temperature swing adjustment jets you fine-tune your system [or maximum comlbrL and economy. Two "AA" batteries {not included) are used la retain your time and temperature programs. A 4minute minimum off time in COOL prevents your air conditioning system from being damaged.

Setting the TIME and DAY

Be sure the time and the current room temperature are alternating In the center 01 display, This shows you are in the NORMAL MODE. If "OVERRIDE" or "HOLD" displayed, press the RETURN key to return to the NORMAL MODE

Press DAY/TIME once to program the DAY.

P'ess AHEAD or BACK to change lhe day.

Press DAYfTlME again to program the time.

Press AHEAD or BACK to adjust lhe Time. Press and hold either key for rapid adjustment.

When finished press RETURN. The thermostat wiit tgtum to the NORMAL MODE.

The Built-ln Programs

The RESET key sets the built-in heating and cooling progtarns shown ngure 17. You tan use the  programs as shown, or change them as you wish. Each day is divided Into four periods. Each period has its own starting time and ternperotute.

Let's look at the heaking program as shown in figure 16 for weekdays. Al 6:00 AM, MORN begins; The TX 1000 turns the heat up to 70- so you wake to warm house. At B:3D AM {DAY), the heat is reduced 60'* to save energy while you are at work or school. At 3:00 PM (EVE), tha heal returns to 70 so you came home to a warm house. Al 11:00 PM (NITE), the Feat is turnad down to 65" to save energy while you sleep.
